Department of Humanities
The Department of Humanities of the Academy of Sciences and Arts of Bosnia and Herzegovina brings together scientists from the areas of philosophy, history, theory and history of literature and linguistics, participating in projects and the organisation of scientific gatherings in these scientific fields. The Department includes permanent organisational units like the Centre for Balkan Studies, which marked the fiftieth anniversary of its highly successful work last year, the Centre for Philosophical Research, which also functions as the editorial department of the Journal Dijalog, as well as the Centre for Lexicology and Lexicography, which initiated activities related to the international project General Slavic Linguistic Atlas. The Committee for Historical Science also acts within this Department. The Department of Humanities currently has ten full members and one corresponding member. The members of the Department are: academician Esad Duraković, academician Serafin Hrkać, academician Dževad Juzbašić, academician Juraj Martinović, academician Abdulah Šarčević, corresponding member Mile Babić, corresponding member Blagoje Govedarica, corresponding member Senahid Halilović and corresponding member Marina Katnić-Bakaršić.
